Modern & Bold Kitchen | Bayside, NY
A dream kitchen for the Bold & Beautiful.
From the client…
“The house looks fantastic! Very much appreciate all the hard work you have put into this, it really shows! “
Our client wanted a seamless flow to host and entertain in their “Great Room”. Starting off with a dedicated bar area, the underwater style “Oceana” Calico wallpaper sets the tone for a surprising segue to the kitchen. The built-in cabinet is adorned with gold Worlds Away hardware and black floating shelves that are topped off with metallic accents and Hudson Valley sconces. The split-height island stands out as the star of the kitchen, with its melody of natural materials, perfectly balanced. On one side, a bar-height quartz counter sitting on black cabinets, for a dine-in kitchen experience. It’s the perfect spot to have a drink or snack. The other side is a counter height island encased in a domestic Montclair Danby honed marble across from the stove, allowing for a spacious area to prep and cook.
To contrast the lighter two-tone countertops, we used minimal and sleek oversized custom cabinets, with black grain flat doors and matching black hood with horizontal brass details to go over the Wolf range. The frosted gray glass tile backsplash climbs to the ceiling with floating shelves mirroring the neighboring bar. The sink sits in front of a large window helping to highlight the two-tone Brizo faucet. Across the island, the floor to ceiling cabinetry laminated in a linen texture, seamlessly blend into the wall while housing the Subzero fridge. All the cabinets were completed with peaks of shine provided by the brass edge pulls, marrying perfectly with the brass Regina Andrews chandelier floating over the island and gold Hudson Valley sconces along the stove wall. The kitchen doesn’t end there! Past the island and fridge is the breakfast nook, furnished with a Hudson Valley chandelier, salmon velvet settee from Nuevo and marble organic-shaped coffee table from Sunpan, perfect for cuddling and having your morning coffee. The bay window is dressed with flowy ombre curtains that match the window treatments throughout the great room, creating a cohesive design.
